Throughout the pandemic, AIA Cargo operated a vast number of cargo-only and cabin-loading charter flights to Tel Aviv, not only from the UK but also from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in the Caribbean, t
he first time ever an EL AL aircraft had touched down in the Dominican Republic. The flights carried items such as general cargo, mail, and fresh fruits such as pineapples.
CCO Jaime Salguero, UK Country Manager, Sarah Macfarlane and Key Account Manager, Rahab Hanna Guy, travelled to Tel Aviv for EL AL’s Worldwide GSA Conference and collected the award in front of EL AL’s worldwide GSAs.
The conference kickstarted with an interactive silent disco held at the beach followed by a relaxed dinner where the team met the CEO of EL AL, Dina Ben Tal Ganancia.
After a great evening with the team from EL AL, we re-joined the following day along with worldwide GSAs of EL AL for the main conference in which there were presentations from the airline’s team alongside a lecture on client retention followed by a great afternoon in which GSA’s carried out one-to-one meetings. During the conference, AIA Cargo was handed a prestigious award for our performance during the Covid-19 pandemic. The following day the EL AL team took AIA Cargo on an excursion to the Dead Sea which was thoroughly enjoyed by Jaime, Sarah, and Rahab.
